Back in camp with the L.A. Galaxy after his training stint with Tottenham, David Beckham recently took to Facebook to show off the newest tattoo in his collection of body art. The scene covers the left side of his chest and depicts Jesus being helped out of his tomb by three cherubs. The cherubs are meant to represent his three sons -- Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz -- while Jesus represents him. David Beckham. In an interview he posted on his page along with the pictures of the tattoo, he tried to explain:
"Obviously, the cherubs are boys, so my thought of it is, you know, at some point, my boys are going to need to look after me, and that's what they're doing in the picture. Everything has a meaning that I've got on me."
Indeed, everything does have a meaning and this isn't Davey's first religious themed tattoo. Among the many, he has an angel on his back posed like a cross, "pray for me" scrawled across his right wrist and one of his wife, Victoria, as a topless angel surrounded by stars. But while he has rescued a family stranded in a broken-down car and bought his training buddies at Spurs a farewell dinner of pie and mashin recent weeks, Becks as Jesus seems a bit much.
The tattoo was done by Mark Mahoney in Los Angeles. Beckham said, “It was an eight-hour session which we went all the way through until about 3 o’clock in the morning. And then a few weeks later I went back in and [...] I did another four hours. It's amazing. It really is amazing." READ THE REST HERE
